Biography

Feng Qing

   

 

Born in 1956, a native of Liaoning Province, he studied painting with his father in 1969 and graduated from the Art Institute of Chinese People’s Liberation Army. He is now advisor to China Youth Art Theatre, first-grade painter of Chine, member of Chinese Artists’ Association, member of China Stage Art Association and leader of Beijing Landscape Oil Painting Friendship Association.

His art works frequently took part in exhibitions both in China and abroad. Some works were exhibited successively in USA, Japan, India, Kuwait, Australia and other countries. In 1988 he held his individual exhibition in China Art Gallery. Some art galleries at home and abroad, such as China Art Gallery, Greenwich Gallery of USA, Chukawa Art Gallery of Japan, and Chinese Artists’ Association, etc collected his paintings.

The introductions to his art works have been translated into different languages such as English, French, Japanese, German, Arabian, Spanish, Russia, Thai, etc. in over 150 countries. Media in China also carried detailed reports on his art works, including China International Broadcasting Station, China Central TV, Beijing TV and other various publications.

For many years he has been engaged in study and research of snow scenery in oil painting. He is one of the most well known Chinese painters on snow scene, and is called “Snow Painter”. He spent long years in Mount Changbai and Mount Xing’an to paint from life, looking for source materials and creative inspiration. His “Selected Paintings of Feng Qing” and “Selected Works of Snow Scenery” have been published. His large-scale individual painting exhibition was held in China Art Gallery in October 1996 in Beijing, receiving a high valuation.
