王益鵬 

Biography

Born in 1943, a native of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, he graduated from the attached secondary school of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1961, and graduated from the Decoration Painting Department of the Central Institute of Arts and Crafts in 1966. Afterwards he once studied at the oil painting training class of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is now associate professor and director of the teaching and research section in the school attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and member of Chinese Artists’ Association.

Many of his oil paintings were shown at home and abroad, such as “Lane’s New Green”, which was exhibited at the 19th International Arts Exhibition held in Monaco, France in 1983, “Spring Rain in a Small Town”, exhibited at China Modern Artists Work Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan in 1986, “ Old Coach” and other two works, exhibited at the sketch exhibition in the art gallery sponsored by the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1987 and selected in the collection of painting works, “February”, exhibited at China Modern Oil Painting Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan in 1988, “Stand Towering in History” and “Contrary Light”, exhibited at the Silk Road Arts Exhibition held by Chinese Artists’ Association in 1989, “Early Spring”, exhibited at the Professors’ Selected Work Exhibition of the Central Academy of Fine Arts held in Japan, “Snow Scene of Drum Tower” and other works, as Beijing Local Customs and Practices Painting Exhibition, exhibited in America. In addition, his paintings “Harvest Season” and “Getting Warm Suddenly” were published in Selected Works of Young Teachers of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

In 1990, Wang Yipeng Painting Exhibition on Silk Road was held in Beijing, in which his 25 oil paintings were on display. The media including Beijing TV, China Daily, Beijing Daily, Guangming Daily, Fine Arts and the Journal of Masses in Taiwan reported the event with favourable comments. In 1991 he was invited to visit Paris of France, where he held his solo shows at the International Arts Town, the European Times Guanghua Gallery and the Asian Home in Marseilles.
