Biography

Tian You Zhuang

   

 

Born in 1944 in Beijing, he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Beijing Arts Institute, and after that he studied oil painting in the Central Institute of Fine Arts and graduated in 1967.  Now he is associate professor in the Department of Fine Arts of Beijing Movies Institute and is member of Chinese Artists’ Association.

In the course of learning painting he studied from the famous painters of China such as Ai Zhong Xin, Wu Guan Zhong and Wei Qi Mei.  After graduation he lived for several years in the northwest China, and so, the local conditions and customs of national minorities of China were reflected in his early works of art.

In recent years he has taken flowers as his subject matter of art creation.  His works were many times on display in national arts exhibitions and were awarded prizes.  Some works were published in national publications, and were collected by Museums in China for example, his work “Old solider” was collected by the China’s Art Gallery.
