Biography

Sun Jian Ping

Born 1948, a native Tianjin, his another name is called “Wild Wind”. He is professor and director of the Oil Painting Department in Tianjin Institute of Fine Arts. He is also member of Chinese Artists’ Association, member of the council of Tianjin Oil Painting Society and managing director of Tianjin Artists’ Association.

In 1978 he graduated from the oil painting specialty of Tianjin institute of Fine Arts and was kept in the institute as a teacher. In 1983 his art works “End of the Drama” took part in National Second Youth Arts Exhibition and won the third prize.

In 1985 he studied in Zhao Wu Ji Oil Painting Study Group held by Zhejiang Institute of Fine Arts. In 1987 his thesis “On Fuzzy of Painting” was passed and was gained master ‘s degree.

In 1988 his art works “Full Content” was exhibited in China First Oil Painting Art Exhibition in Shanghai, and afterwards the same painting was on display in Japan accompanied with China Oil Painting Exhibition. In 1990 the works “The Autumn on Plateau” took part in China First Landscape Oil Painting Invitation Exhibition in Beijing. In 1992 his book “Modern Portrait Sketches” was published. In 1993 the works “Mr Wei Qinmei” was on display in China Second Oil Painting Annual Exhibition in Beijing. In 1994 the works “Li Shutong” was exhibited in China Second Oil Painting Art Exhibition in Beijing, and the works “Rock and Roll Young Man” was exhibited in National Eighth Excellent Art Works Exhibition. In 1995 the works “Water Mill” took part in China First Landscape Oil Painting Exhibition in Beijing, and in November of the same year he held his individual oil painting exhibition in China Art Gallery in Beijing. Most of his works are abstract art, with strong color and creative style.
